Richard W. Brown, Executive Director, begins his seventeenth year with Monarch Housing Associates in 2007. He has thirty-six years experience in both housing development and the management of permanent, affordable and supportive housing. Before working for Monarch, Mr. Brown helped to develop and implement affordable housing and home ownership programs in New Jersey and New York. He is a member of Federal Home Loan Bank of NY's AHP Advisory Committee.

Taiisa Telesford joined Monarch Housing Associates in March 2006. She worked originally with the HUD
811 Team to develop supportive housing for individuals with disabilities. As of October 1, 2007, she will be working with the Ending Homelessness Team.
Ms. Telesford’s previous work experience includes working within the field of mental health
providing direct care services and working with children as an educator. Ms. Telesford graduated from
Rutgers
University
in 2002 with a BA degree
in Psychology and Anthropology and a minor in Africana Studies.

Sharon Levy works with nonprofit organizations to create housing that is high-quality, affordable, and service-enriched. Ms. Levy’s expertise is in developing multifamily rental housing using a combination of federal low income housing tax credits, public funding, and private loans and grants. Ms. Levy joined Monarch Housing Associates in April 2005 and is a Senior Associate on the Housing Development Team. She has worked in the affordable housing industry since 1992 and has held positions in project management for developers of multifamily housing, administration of state housing loan programs, and private housing consulting for non-profit organizations. Ms. Levy received a Masters in City and Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BA in Political Science from the University of Michigan.

Diane Driscoll joined Monarch Housing Associates as a member of the Housing Development Team in January 2006. She comes to Monarch with experience in management, regulatory compliance and environmental regulations. She has volunteered extensively with many school and community organizations. A 1978 graduate of Princeton University, Ms. Driscoll majored in history, with an additional certificate in the History of Science.

Peggy Verenna-Doebbeling, Senior Associate and Team Leader, has been a member of the HUD Section 811 Team at Monarch Housing Associates since March 2001. Ms. Verenna-Doebbeling works to develop supportive housing through the HUD Section 811 Supportive Housing for Persons with Disabilities Program from project concept through construction completion. Ms. Verenna-Doebbeling has 5 years of experience in the housing and community development field and over 10 years in the non profit field. Ms. Verenna-Doebbeling received a BA in History from Rutgers University.

Elizabeth Tedeschi joined Monarch Housing Associates in January 2006 where she now works as a member of the HUD Section 811 Team, in the development of supportive housing. Ms. Tedeschi comes to Monarch with experience in working with children of diverse backgrounds and disabilities. Ms. Tedeschi graduated with honors in 2005 with a BA degree in Psychology and a minor in Journalism from the College of Saint Elizabeth.

Quinn Allen joined Monarch Housing Associates as a 2007 Housing Scholar this June 2007. For the remainder of the summer she will work with the HUD 811 team to assist in developing supportive housing for people with disabilities. Ms. Allen joins the 811 team with a background in Architecture as well as volunteering experience including Hurricane Katrina relief spent on her spring break March 2007. Ms. Allen is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Architecture at NJIT along with a dual degree in Infrastructure Planning.

Asish Patel, Senior Associate and Team Leader, graduated from the New Jersey Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, with a History minor, and a Masters’ degree in Management. Mr. Patel attended Pratt Institute’s Community and Economic Development Internship Program. Mr. Patel was a housing scholar in 1994, and has continued to work for Monarch from that point forward. During his time at Monarch, Mr. Patel has worked on numerous projects, ranging from single family homes to multi family apartment buildings, scattered site projects, as well as commercial spaces. With regards to those projects, he has worked on site selection, coordination with the development team, funding applications, municipal reviews, construction monitoring, and general project coordination. Mr. Patel currently serves as Project Manager for all projects under development at Monarch Housing Associates.

Eucabeth Williams joined Monarch Housing Associates in July 2001. In this capacity, she works with organizations to develop supportive housing projects from project concept through construction completion and lease-up of units. Ms. Williams has four (4) years of experience in the housing and community development field working with social service non profit organizations. Ms. Williams’s previous work experience included direct care services for a non profit organization. Ms. Williams received a BA in Psychology from Rutgers University.

Douglas Trosky joined Monarch Housing Associates in the summer of 2007 through the Housing Scholars Program. Mr. Trosky is interning under the Project Management team where he will assist in all stages of the development, primarily on site selection for new projects, design review of projects in early development stage and interact with various facets of the development process by meeting with municipal officials, bankers, contractors, and community representatives and developers. Mr. Trosky is currently a senior at the New Jersey Institute of Technology where he is studying to receive his Bachelors Degree in Architecture.
